About Me
Fernando J. de Miguel, PhD.
Thank you for taking the time of visiting my site. I am a cancer biologist with more than 10 years of experience in academic research. Born in the USA but raised in Spain, I have performed my studies and professional activities across both countries.
I hold a degree in Biochemistry, an M.Sc. in Molecular and Cellular Biology, and a Ph.D. in Biomedicine, which I obtained at the University of Navarra and the Autonomous University of Madrid in Spain. I have also worked as a postdoctoral researcher for six years at Yale University and I am currently performing my research activity as an Associate Research Scientist at the same institution.
As a cancer biologist, I am specialized in lung cancer. My research has allowed me to study this disease from its intrinsically molecular features to a more translational and applied clinical perspective.
Another passion I nurture is Science Communication. I firmly believe that, as scientists, part of our duties and responsibilities is to engage with our society and convey the importance of the discoveries that we make.
I truly hope you enjoy getting to know me a bit better and please do not hesitate to contact me.
